Vi was born in Stourport and came back to Stourport on her marriage and has lived in her present home in Areley Kings for almost 44 years.
She was head girl at Harry Cheshire School and on leaving went into clerical work but her interests extends to people more than office work. She is currently Chair of Age Concern, Wyre Forest, Chair of Wilden Village Hall, an active member of the Stourport Town Fairtrade Group and a member of The Stourport Justice and Peace Group. She is one of the founder members of the Areley Kings Village Hall who helped raised the funds to build the Hall and is still on the Management Committee.
She has been a member of Areley Kings Methodist Church for almost 40 years where she has been a Sunday School teacher and is currently a Church Steward and fundraiser on the Church Council.
Vi is a very keen Labour supporter being brought up in a socialist home, she is a strong supporter of socialist and working class values and continues to work with people in her job of work with Social Services.
A former Mayor of Stourport, Vi has proven her worth as an articulate and forceful speaker in debate.
She is a keen gardener, likes reading, sewing and home pursuits, decorating etc and enjoys making jewellery.
