Robert has lived in Bewdley for 25 years and he and his wife Valerie, who is a teaching assistant in a local school, brought up three children in the town. He retired from full-time work in marketing and management consultancy in 2005. He is secretary of Bewdley Branch Labour Party and is the Labour candidate for Bewdley and Arley in the forthcoming District Election.

Robert said, ‘Tory central government economic policy is flawed – the cuts are too far and too fast. We are now seeing the effects on our local services. During these hard times the Tories in power on the district council have spent irresponsibly on a showpiece HQ building and expensive furniture. When it comes to local Tory cuts, Bewdley seems to suffer disproportionately. As a Bewdley resident, first and foremost, I will, if elected, work to reverse this imbalance.
