David Prain was born and educated in Manchester. He joined a national legal practice after qualifying as a solicitor. Rose through the ranks to become the senior managing partner. Retired from the profession in 2005 with 30 years legal experience. He is interested in current affairs, national & world politics, wildlife, photography and travel.
David Prain says to the voters of Sutton Park:
I will fight on your behalf for an improvement to public transport serving this area. I will also make sure that the roads in Sutton Park are properly maintained and that the pavements are safe.
On crime and disorder I am particularly determined to make all areas of the town safer for young and old alike. I will ask the Council to put in place further measures to protect the public.
Environmental issues are also important to me and whether it is recycling or home insulation, I will campaign to improve the quality of our lives.
As a business professional, I had a reputation for getting things done, and as a District Councillor I will strive to be effective, and fight for justice for anyone who needs help.
David Prain says…..
The District Council election on 1 May is your chance to vote on the lack of action on major services in Wyre Forest by the Conservatives.
Look no further than the state of the local roads.
There is no need to show photos of potholes - they are outside everyone’s house, on the way to work and the shops. The odd bucket of tarmac in a hole is a waste of time and resources as the hole next to it picks out even more. Watch the orange circle merge into one!
Staying on the subject of roads, David Prain strongly supports County Councillor Nigel Knowles in his campaign for a 20mph speed limit on all roads near schools. Government research shows that a pedestrian has a 1 in 5 chance of being killed if hit by a car doing 30mph, but only a 1 in 40 chance if the speed is reduced to 20mph. The County Council have accepted Nigel’s arguments, but we must, for the sake of our children, make sure they are implemented.
I am asking for your support in the election on 1 May. I sincerely believe that I can represent you and your family in an effective and professional way. I have lived in Kidderminster for 14 years - long enough to be aware of what needs to be done for the people living in the ward.
Elect me and I will:
Work for improved bus services for Sutton Park
Fight for more money to go into repairing the roads and pavements in Sutton Park
Work with residents, the police and other agencies to stamp out anti-social behaviour in Sutton Park
Fight for weekly bin collections in the hot summer months
