Working Hard for Wyre Forest

Mumshad Ahmed is Labour County Councillor for Kidderminster St Georges and St Oswalds

Mumshad Ahmed

Cllr Mumshad Ahmed has been accepted into membership of the Labour Party. Therefore, automatically, he becomes a member of both Labour Groups of the councils on which he serves, Wyre Forest and Worcestershire.

Jamie Shaw, Leader of the Labour Group on Wyre Forest District Council, says, My fellow councillors and I welcome Mumshad. As with all councillors who join from other political parties, or from Independent status, he will enjoy the full rights and responsibilities of Group membership. We support wholeheartedly his recent statement highlighting the emerging effects on vulnerable groups of too-drastic budget cuts enforced by the Tory-led Government. We look forward to working with him as an advocate for both his local area and for the Labour values of Community and Care.

Cllr Ahmed comments,

“The Tory-led government in Westminster is cutting too far, too fast and putting economic recovery at risk and, locally, the Conservatives are abandoning those that need them most. Like people all over Worcestershire, I feel let down by the Conservatives and simply cannot support them any longer.

I am delighted to join the Labour Party. It is now the only political party fighting for ordinary, hardworking people across Kidderminster, Wyre Forest and Worcestershire.”
