Barry McFarland has lived in Kidderminster for thirty six years.

He is married to Irene and they have four daughters, all educated at local state schools. Being an ex school teacher and college lecturer, Barry has a great interest in and understanding of Education. Until recently he worked as a national manager for trade union education.

Barry has been a District and Parish Councillor and has a great deal of experience of both local and community issues.

He has been involved in many local campaigns, the most recent being to secure a Radiotherapy Unit in Kidderminster Hospital; others include action to prevent large scale development at Halfpenny Green Airport and the fight to stop an incinerator being built on the Stourport Road. 
    
Barry would like the District Council to:   

bring back weekly bin collection

keep our streets cleaner

increase the number of Community Support Officers to help provide even safer streets

abandon plans to waste our money on a single site for council offices

strive for full commercial development of the Sugar Beet Site to bring jobs to the area.
