High Street Stourport

Worcestershire County Councillor Derek Prodger, whose Cabinet responsibility is Transport, will meet with town councillors, including me, on Tuesday 2nd September. Several of my previous blogs have featured my concerns about the road surface in High Street. If I have the opportunity to ask only one question, it will be on this subject. Cllr Prodger should be able to give an authoritative reply, since it was one of the issues to which reference was made in the letter of invitation sent to him.

Half Crown Wood

I have alerted the owner of the land, the district council, to the use of an area of this nature reserve as a drinking den. This area is near the boundaries of houses in Jackson Crescent and Wesley Avenue. At the moment, the anti-social effects seem to be limited to copious amounts of litter, but the potential for disturbance is obvious. The police have also been informed.

My inspection of a wider area of Half Crown Wood and the nearby tarmacked footpath led me to request a wide-ranging litter pick-up and a cut-back of vegetation at the side of the path.
